Cancer Care

According to a survey made in 2017, countries like Australia, Canada, Finland, Iceland, Norway and the United States of America have the highest survival rates for most cancers while that for several cancers in India are lower than those in Europe or North America because of delayed diagnosis and lack of access to appropriate treatment. The poor survival rates in India are due to lack of awareness about early symptoms and delayed diagnosis. According to oncologists, lack of access to appropriate treatment due to cost or other factors also lead to low survival rates. Needless to say, appropriate chemotherapy dosage and treatment strategy is critical in improving survival rates.

Since 2016, Overman Foundation has been working for cancer patients. Financial assistance to patients suffering from cancer is provided by our organization. Fruits, health-drinks, chocolates, soaps, antiseptic baby-powders, etc. are distributed regularly to the all the children suffering from cancer and being treated at the Child Care Centre, a wing of Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute (Thakurpukur, Kolkata) in memory of late Sanghamitra Banerjee (8 August 1956—27 October 2016), eminent actress of Bengali film industry and also the chief patron of Overman Foundation.
