Dear Friends and Well-wishers of Overman Foundation,
We are happy to announce the publication of our new book entitled Sri Aurobindo and His Ashram in Contemporary Newspapers in two volumes compiled and edited by Shri Anurag Banerjee, on the occasion of Sri Aurobindo’s 151st Birth Anniversary. The first volume consists of press reports from the period 1909 (that is, after Sri Aurobindo’s acquittal from the Alipore Bomb Trial) to 1935 while the second volume covers the period 1936 to 1940. Every available news and articles — including those published in various magazines — irrespective of their nature, as well as reviews of Sri Aurobindo’s books, have been included in these volumes. On one hand there are eloquent tributes paid to Sri Aurobindo and on the other hand there are harsh criticisms as well as misrepresentation of facts. Nothing has been left out considering the historical significance of these reports.
The first edition of this book was released by Shri Manoj Dasgupta, Managing Trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust and Registrar of Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education, Pondicherry, on Thursday, 21 April 2023.
Shri Manoj Dasgupta with Shri Anurag Banerjee, Founder, Overman Foundation.
Consisting of 708 pages, Volume One of Sri Aurobindo and His Ashram in Contemporary Newspapers (hardbound and printed in royal size with jacket), is available at a price of Rs. 1150.
Volume Two of Sri Aurobindo and His Ashram in Contemporary Newspapers (also hardbound and printed in royal size with jacket), consists of 618 pages and is available at a price of Rs. 1050.

Thanks, golden years! In difficult times the cherished memory of early great sadhaks surfaces — those who came young, when the Sri Aurobindo Ashram was a closed enclave and not even to cross the canal was allowed. Silently teaching by example. Then I know the Path is Victory, surmounting all obstacles.
Great contribution to the Sri Aurobindo Archives ! Congratulations dear Anurag!
Remarkable work !
Warm Wishes !

Getting all these very old newspaper publications and putting all their inputs together, leaving nothing aside – including criticisms, arising out of ignorance -in the form of two volumes, is a great work.
All of us who are sadhaks of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, shall remain grateful to Anurag who has done something that would illuminate all future generations.
Dear Shri Anureg Banerjee,
I would like very much to buy: Publication of Sri Aurobindo and His Ashram in Contemporary Newspaper’ in two volumes.
However hard I tried, I receive the following message: ”your parametres are obsolate”. Can’t remedy the situation because I don’t have a cell phone and that is necessary for that.
Can you help me?
OM! Shanti! Shanti!

Marc,
Bonjour,
C’est Miel ici. J’avais 12 ans en 1972, quand tu vivait et travaillait à l’Ashram. Tu vas bien en Canada !?! Le Body Building ça continue ?
Avec mes meilleurs voeux
Amicalement,
Miel Sourya.
Great Work ! Will read.
So far, baking under the sun in tranquil water, big thanks.
Anurag, contact me when you file documents regarding the court cases against Peter Heehs and the one directly against the Ashram Trustees. I was called, initially by Deshpande, in the vain attempt to mediate and I have kept the complete documentation: evil persona in full swing.
Dear Paulette,
I have no intention whatsoever to file the documents related to the court cases. And I am truly pained at the way all these discussions are heading.
Regards,
Anurag
Dear Anurag:
I am delighted with this very important archival publication. Ten years ago I would have plunged into it and perhaps drawn new lights about the Master, but now all I can do is to deepl;y appreciate the work you are doing for the Aurobindonian world.
My blessings for your continued service to the Mother and the Master.
With good wishes
Prema
Félicitations, dear friend.
Congratulations dear Anurag for this treasure of information on Sri Aurobindo and his Ashram.
