The Mother’s Photographs with the Early Inmates of Sri Aurobindo Ashram

Mother

Dear Friends,

21 February 2016 marks the 138th Birth Anniversary of the Mother. As our special homage to Her, some photographs of the Mother with the early inmates of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, have been uploaded in the online forum of Overman Foundation. While some of these inmates were renowned intellectuals and artists, there were many who were silent and dedicated workers who never came under the limelight but were an integral part of the golden period of the Ashram.

With warm regards,

    1. Dear Sir,
Since we wanted to upload photographs of the early inmates of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, we did not include in this post any photograph of Satprem because he joined the Ashram in 1953 while the others who has featured in this post joined it in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

  1. The rarest of the rare are these photographs showing how those embodied god heads received the benedictions from the Mother whose smile could persuade the lacerated dead heart to live and breath again! Grateful for sharing, Anurag Ji!

  2. I really enjoyed seeing this photograph of my biological mother with the DIVINE MOTHER. I recall having seen this photo many many years ago.

Vinay Verma (known in the Ashram as a child as Kucku).
    Retired Ambassador of India.

  3.
