  1. Message on 7th April 2010
    Dear Shri Anuraag Banerjee:
I am delighted about the blossoming of Overman Foundation to take the message of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother to widening circles and thus help our society evolve into a better one. Sri Aurobindo’s message is very much the need of the hour. Whether it is corruption in the body politic or cultural suicides or external and internal terrorism, life appears to be very dark right now. To help us overcome the shadow within and bravely face the challenges without, we have no better leader than Sri Aurobindo. The Mother has rightly said that he has given us the assurance about the beauty of the future, a message thoughtfully distributed to celebrate the 4th of April.
Hence Overman Foundation will be playing a very significant role for our nation as well as the entire humanity. With prayers to the Divine Mother for your Foundation to realise all that Sri Aurobindo asked for in ‘Rose of God’,
    Sincerely
    Prema Nandakumar

  2. Dear Shri Anuraag:

I am delighted to know about the Overman Foundation. It is exactly like Sri Aurobindo and the Mother launching Arya, defiantly as it were, as the war-clouds were gathering over Europe. Today we are once again in almost the same position. Especially, within India, almost every inch of territory is getting hauled up by one or other disturbance and terror. The objectives of the Overman Foundation are laudable and necessary for our times. You will be taking the message of Sri Aurobiundo to a wider audience and that is always a definite message of divine possibilities. We need to conserve and sustain this hope in the future and not be taken in by the newspaper reports that paint a Doomsday scenario.I was delighted when the 4th April special message-card contained the Mother’s words:

“Sri Aurobindo came to tell the world of the beauty of the future that must be realised.
He came to give not a hope but a certitude of splendour towards which the world moves. The world is not an unfortunate accident, it is a marvel which moves towards its expression.
The world needs the certitude of the beauty of the future. And Sri Aurobindo has given that assurance.”

With prayers to the Divine Mother for a purposive and divinity-laden future for Overman Foundation,
    Sincerely
    Prema Nandakumar

  3. Dear Anurag Banerjee,

Thank you for informing me about the timely creation of the Overman Foundation.

Quite deliberately I insist on the adverb timely. A few years ago, in one of my discussions with Pandit Ravi Shankar, I raised the question about the decreasing degree of efficiency of our mantras; Panditji sighed and admitted that – too often repeated – they seem to be wearing out. From that point of view, I sense that – fortunately for us -, Sri Aurobindo’s vision and the Mother’s impetus have added a new significance and an extraordinary vitality to our hoary past, capable of leading humanity to its doomed transformation till the ultimate establishment of the Life Divine.

Having chosen the glorious task of furthering this mission, you have, indeed, been chosen by this mission.

As such, I wish you to shine, not for yourself, but for the love of our spiritual Guides.

    Warm regards.

    Dr Prithwindra Mukherjee

  4. Dear brother Anurag:

    ” May Mother´s & Sri Aurobindo´s,
Love, Light & Joy be always your
    constant guide.”

I was,Am so touched with the project
you have launched… My spirit unites more
with thyne in relation to the quest….

I recall the project Mother set out in the early 70´s
Sri Aurobindo´s action, where She wanted the world
to know openly the works of our beloved Papa.
And as I met Mama many, many times, She always
insisted on harmony, between us, respect, love and
joy in doing the work..I am still in love with the project
and contribute in my, again, limited way, Spain, Mexico,
    U.S.A. India and myself.

I can see the work taking shape..WOW!!
Brother: To work in villages, towns is just fantastic!
BUT, Please don´t forget some of our brothers with poor
souls that need help….Let there be Delight, and Gratitude in whatever way we choose
    to serve THEM..
At THEIR service and of truth…..Your thankful brother…..Mali.

  5. Dear Anurag,

As I received your email, I came across the following lines from ‘Savitri’ which seem so appropriate for the work you are proposing to do –

“Man must overcome or miss his higher fate.

This is the inner war without escape”

One feels very happy that you are inspired to commit yourself to this work.

As we move ahead on this journey – with affection, Aster

  6. Dear Anurag,
I pray to the Mother to help you in your noble aim.

  7. Since the turn of the previous century we are living in an age of synthesis. It is an age when all the dichotomies and paradoxes of human nature, the inner and outer contradictions of life that have vexed and besieged man are being brought in close contact with each other to confront and resolve their apparent conflicts. Apparent, because in the depths of creation there is always a unity and the need for harmony is much more instinct in Nature than the tendency towards disintegration and disorder. So also on the luminous peaks of our inner consciousness there burns a Light in which all our dire debates cease and the contradictions are healed as each tendency and movement of Nature finds its true place in the total scheme of things. But here, upon earth and more so with the advent of the mental consciousness and its full development in man the division, disharmony and disorder have reached enormous proportions.
What is the way out of this impasse? Certainly not to fall back to the animal harmony for that would be retrogression. The advent of mind has meant an increasing complexity and awareness whereas the animal life is sustained by a spontaneous, albeit simple and unconscious harmony. The only way out is to emerge out of the limited and limiting, divided and dividing consciousness of the mind into a higher, greater, vaster consciousness that would at once be the most direct, true and spontaneous expression of our inmost soul. That such a consciousness beyond Mind exists is an ancient discovery of many a sages, seers and mystics in each age of mankind. That man can enter into such a higher and vaster consciousness and take his station there and act from there has also been preached as an ideal, even if achieved and practiced by a few, right from the Vedic ages or perhaps even before. But that this vaster, greater Truth can be brought down to earth and made the chief moving Force of man and normal in its operation upon earth, is something that has not been envisaged or attempted before the coming of Sri Aurobindo. Not only did Sri Aurobindo envisage this Ideal of bringing the spiritual and Supramental into the material and the earthly life of man but He also prepared the earth for its reception and advent. Through His own example He showed us the way and gave the path of Integral Yoga to man for this greater Becoming and self-exceeding. Above all He left for us His Influence vibrating in the earth atmosphere and through his luminous writings left for man a rarest treasure whose priceless value yet can save the world.
It is only natural that in times to come more and more centres of this New Light brought down to earth by the heroic tapasya of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo, will emerge and spread as powerful waves and carry this creation one more step forward, the crucial step that would take man beyond the frontiers of Ignorance into the native home of Truth and Light. Surely, the Overman Foundation is one such strong wave arising from the Supramental seas that is increasingly spreading its Influence upon earth. I am sure this Foundation inspired directly by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother is already Blessed by Their Grace that is always and abundantly available with all who are ready and aspire to collaborate in this work of terrestrial transformation that has been initiated and is being led and guided by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. My very best prayers that may the foundation fulfil the goal, the ideal that has given birth to it and serve the great purpose for which it has come into existence. To close with some luminous and prophetic lines from Sri Aurobindo’s Savitri:

This earth shall stir with impulses sublime,
    Humanity awake to deepest self,
    Nature the hidden godhead recognise.
Even the many shall some answer make
And bear the splendour of the Divine’s rush
And his impetuous knock at unseen doors.
A heavenlier passion shall upheave men’s lives,
Their mind shall share in the ineffable gleam,
Their heart shall feel the ecstasy and the fire.
    Earth’s bodies shall be conscious of a soul;
Mortality’s bondslaves shall unloose their bonds,
Mere men into spiritual beings grow
And see awake the dumb divinity.
Intuitive beams shall touch the nature’s peaks,
    A revelation stir the nature’s depths;
The Truth shall be the leader of their lives,
Truth shall dictate their thought and speech and act,
They shall feel themselves lifted nearer to the sky,
As if a little lower than the gods.
For knowledge shall pour down in radiant streams
And even darkened mind quiver with new life
And kindle and burn with the Ideal’s fire
And turn to escape from mortal ignorance.
The frontiers of the Ignorance shall recede,
More and more souls shall enter into light,

  8. I am glad to know that the newly launched ‘Overman Foundation’ seeks to work towards spreading the evolutionary vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in the towns and villages of West Bengal. I send the members of the Foundation my warm greetings and good wishes in achieving their commendable objectives.

  9. Dear Anurag,
I, in my humble way, wish the newly formed organization a great success. Let your work spread, like a ripple in a lake, in an ever widening circle, touching every nook and corner of Bengal…
We wish you ‘un grand succès’

    Yours affectionately,

    Noren da

  10. Dear Anurag,
Thank you for your mail about the Overman foundation.
I wish you all success in your endeavour.

    Love and good wishes,

    Shobha-di

  11. Dear Anurag,

I fully support the aims and objectives of The ‘Overman Foundation.’ I believe the subjects of Integral Management and Social Unity, which the foundation has taken up based on the ideals and guidance of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, will become increasingly important in solving humanity’s problems. Other activities of the foundation, such as recognizing the contributions of Aurobindonian scholars and workers, and research on and dissemination of the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, are also highly commendable and useful endeavors. The efforts of the foundation in these directions will surely be successful as long as it remembers and maintains its high spiritual aim of realizing and expressing the Divine in human life.

    Warm regards,
    Larry

  12. Dear Anurag,

With regard to the Overman Foundation I would like to say that you have my full support for this great cause. I am very happy to learn about the noble aims and objectives of the Overman Foundation. There was a time when Bengal used to be at the forefront of all great movements that shaped the destiny of India. Unfortunately it is not so now. Therefore it is now imperative to spread the teachings of Sri Aurobindo among the simple, unsophisticated people of rural Bengal and awaken their latent inner possibilities so that Bengal may once again contribute to the future glory of Mother India. My ardent prayers and best wishes are always with you for your success in this great endeavour.

    With lots of love,
    Gauri-di

  13. Dear Anurag, Friends and Staff of Overman Foundation,

Congratulations to you on the wonderful creation of your organization and its Website.
I laud your efforts in launching Overman Foundation and your site in order to bring the Light of The Master and the Mother to a worldwide audience.

I am not a scholar trained in the spiritual texts of India, so will not be presenting a scholarly and intellectual paper from that standpoint. Perhaps, in any case, we have had enough of so much talk and are now seeking the confirmation of that deep spiritual experience and inner growth that will assist in moving us ever forward on the path.

From the outset, when I first began to read your postings, I was moved by what I felt had profoundly resonated from within my soul as a result. The research you have carried out, never before seen photos that you have uncovered, keeping us updated on important events and activities, biographies on those great sadhaks who have gone before us who had devoted their lives to the Integral Yoga, has been a most uplifting and heart-felt inspiration.

The high ideals you represent, lack of any apparent political agenda, and the purity and sincerity of your offerings will assure that all readers will be held close to the essence of Their Message and all that They have sacrificed for the future of mankind for the certainty of the manifestation of the Supramental Consciousness.

May your work continue to be blest by Them and may the New Year 2011 bring you
    many new and uplifting experiences.

    In Their Light,
    Anie Nunnally,
President, Board of Sri Aurobindo Center of Los Angeles
